Roadmap — NIH Epigenomics Mapping Consortium

Epigenomics Consortium NIH Roadmap
STAGE_PERIOD
2008–2010
DESCRIPTION
The NIH Roadmap Epigenomics Mapping Consortium launched as a public resource of human epigenomic data. Goals included producing a reference set of histone modification, DNA accessibility, DNA methylation, and RNA expression maps across a broad range of human cell types and tissues.

Roadmap — Integrative analysis of 111 reference epigenomes

Epigenomes Reference ChromHMM
PUBMED_LINK

STAGE_PERIOD
2015
DESCRIPTION
Flagship Roadmap Epigenomics paper: integrative analysis of 111 reference human epigenomes from diverse cell types and tissues. Generated comprehensive maps of histone modifications, chromatin accessibility, DNA methylation, and RNA expression. Defined 15-chromatin-state models (ChromHMM) for each epigenome and developed the Epigenome Roadmap web portal. A foundational resource for understanding gene regulation in human health and disease.
